Aphrodite’s Organic Pie Shop

APHRODITE ORGANIC PIE SHOP (3598 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver, BC)

Aphrodite Organic Pie Shop is a really adorable little cafe with several tables available for the general public. The pie shop is literally a little bigger than a coffee shop with a very good selection of pie and beverages. The pie shop is diagonally cross from the Aphrodite restaurant on the corner of West 4th and Dunbar Street. Make sure you pay a visit to the restaurant during brunch as it serves pretty delicious brunch with a good selection. The pie shop is on the south east corner of west 4th and Dunbar Street so you definitely wouldn’t miss it. There is a huge selection of dessert pies or savoury pies so there is bound to be a pie that’s suitable for your tastebuds.

A huge selection of pies with flavours that are sweet or savoury. Choose your pick and decide whether you would like to have take out or dine in. I personally prefer dining in with a savoury since they heat it up to the perfect temperature.

Aphrodite has a massive fridge display case in the left side of the restaurant by the cashier and it has all the heavenly goodness that you’re looking for. There are a number of dessert pies that I have tried but I ate it without taking a photo of it as my mouth was already salivating staring at the yummy dessert pies. You can choose between a small 6 inch pie or a larger 10 inch pie. Of course, if you don’t want to feel guilty and just want a taste tester, then go with a slice!

Toutiere pie: My very first savoury pie as I have never eaten any savoury pies before in my whole life. Yes, I’m a dessert lover so I only experienced dessert pies like “apple pies” but nothing that’s Unami tasting. So, as a foodie, I decided to give it a try! I LOVED IT! This Toutiere pie was made of minced pork with very delicious herbs and spices! Warning, I had this pie for dinner and one slice filled me completely! That is how dense the pie was.

Quiche – spinach and mushroom: My love of quiche has grew fonder after biting into this slice of quiche. Oh my goodness, it’s so soft and silky smooth that I couldn’t stop eating this. The whole quiche was filled with spinach and mushrooms which was a perfect combination to each other. I would definitely go back and order this again!

lemon meringue pie: I must say, I’m not a lemon meringue kind of girl as I find them either too sweet or too sour (too much lemon. However, this lemon meringue was the perfect density with the perfect balance of sweetness and sourness.
